Hi Church Family,
Our laundry room has finally been fitted out with cupboards for all our towels and clothes; with this in mind, we are in urgent need of new underwear for our clients that use the shower facilities; small sizes for the ladies please, 6,8 and 10, and small, medum, large for the mean. lots of socks as well please. We also supply clothes so that we can wash the clothes they came to us in; to keep it simple, we like new jogging bottoms and sweatshirts; again in the sizes above as well as size 12/14 for women and XL for men. We also have a few church volunteers keeping this space clean & tidy and keeping up on the decorating. Next job is the wall by the toilet, if you can help please do speak to me.
We also have a rail for good quality second hand clothes for our clients to access when they visit as often people who cannot afford food, rarely get new clothes. We also need shoes for men and women too.
We are going to be hosting a fashion show early next year; this may seem early to ask; however, an event of this scale requires a lot of forward planning and we are in urgent need of items to ensure that we can put this event on. It will be amazing as we have a great mix of clients and volunteers that are very excited to be a part of this event. Please ask your friends, families and neighbours to consider a spring clean of all their unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags, costume jewelry, hats, fascinators, suits and ball gowns. The sooner we get items in, the better for our planning. You can drop items in to us any week day or leave them on a Sunday morning.
We have our amazing Barber, Martyn, in on the first Monday of every month, this is life giving for our clients; especially for those clients that are sleeping outside; having access to hair cuts that are creative and well done; enables our clients to improve their mental health, and their access to services; feeling valued and being able to make choices is invaluable and therapeutic. It is wonderful to be a part of this, the 'banter' and laughter alone is beautiful and the results are amazing.
As always, we need your constant prayer support; the lives we impact and the clients we serve have such complex stories and we know that they need to see love in action. We are on the front line every day and God is our source.
