What you’ll do: Provide leadership across Storehouse (including Foodbank, Community Lunch, Nexus, Cookery School and Re:fresh), recruit and develop a team of 40+ volunteers, build partnerships, ensure safe and excellent operations, and help the whole church engage in compassion and mission.
What we’re looking for: A strong personal faith in Jesus, proven leadership and organisational skills, confidence working with diverse people and partners, and a heart to see volunteers and clinets experience the love of Christ.

Job Title: Storehouse Pastor
Location: WaterWays Vineyard Church, Trowbridge, based at Emmanuel’s Yard, Church Street, BA14 8RZ.
REPORTING TO: Senior Pastors
WORKING WITH: Senior Pastors, Staff Team, Board of Trustees, Storehouse Ministry Leaders, Volunteers, Partner Agencies, and Wider Church Family.
SALARY: £28,500 PA (reviewed annually)
HOURS OF WORK: Full-time, 35 hours per week, including some Sundays. Some flexibility will be required, including occasional evenings and weekends, due to the responsive nature of the role and church community life. It will be expected that the post holder will be actively and regularly present in the life of the church.
ANNUAL LEAVE: 25 days plus UK Bank Holidays pro rata

WaterWays Vineyard is a Bible-based and Holy Spirit-filled church that is part of the Vineyard family of churches. We are committed to:

A large group of volunteers already give their time generously. Some attend WaterWays Vineyard, some attend other local churches, and others have no church connection.
This role requires someone who can lead both mission and ministry: offering effective, professional, and consistent support to those in need, while also building a culture of discipleship, invitation, prayer, and spiritual growth among volunteers and the wider church family.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the vision, values and culture of WWV
Champion and model the mission and values of WaterWays Vineyard in all Storehouse contexts.
Ensure Storehouse ministries serve people with dignity, compassion, and excellence, reflecting the heart of Jesus.
Be an active participant in the spiritual life of the church and staff team.
Strategic Leadership of Storehouse (overall ministry leadership)
Provide clear oversight, direction, and development for all Storehouse ministries (Foodbank, Community Lunch, Nexus, Cookery School, Re:fresh, and any future projects).
Work with key leaders and teams to set vision, priorities, and measurable goals.
Ensure the ministries operate in a way that is sustainable, consistent, and aligned with WWV’s mission.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with local partners, agencies, venues, and supporters.
Discipleship and Pastoral Leadership within Storehouse
Build a disciple-making culture within Storehouse teams, helping volunteers grow in faith, character, and calling.
Foster a Christian culture among all volunteers and clients, regardless of their background or church connection, that is motivated by the love of Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Provide pastoral leadership in a way that is appropriate to role boundaries, safeguarding, and context.
Offer prayer and spiritual support to volunteers and clients in a way that is sensitive, open and generous.
Actively encourage the integration of volunteers and clients into appropriate next steps within church life.
Team Oversight (Volunteer leadership, recruitment, development)
Recruit, train, develop, support, and retain a large volunteer team (c. 40+ volunteers), in line with safer recruitment and WWV policy.
Ensure rotas, role clarity, supervision, and healthy team culture across Storehouse ministries.
Facilitate volunteer training and regular communication, including one-to-ones where appropriate.
Identify, raise up, and release leaders within the Storehouse ministries.
Operations, Compliance, and Quality of Service
Ensure Storehouse ministries are delivered safely, legally, and effectively, including compliance with relevant policies and best practice.
Oversee implementation and review of: safeguarding, health & safety, GDPR, COSHH, food hygiene, and risk assessments as relevant.
Ensure a safe, welcoming, and appropriately resourced environment for clients and volunteers.
Maintain systems for incident reporting, session oversight, and continuous improvement.
Communications and Church Engagement
Maintain a visible presence at WaterWays Vineyard on Sundays to promote Storehouse, recruit volunteers, and build church-wide ownership of compassion ministry.
Ensure Storehouse stories, needs, and opportunities are communicated well within the church and wider community (in collaboration with relevant staff/leaders) .
Act as (or delegate) first point of contact for Storehouse enquiries (email/phone/post/social), ensuring responses are prompt and professional.
Represent Storehouse appropriately to external partners and the community.
Finance, Fundraising, and Grants
Provide oversight of Storehouse budgets and spending in line with WWV financial procedures (in collaboration with Treasurer/Staff Team/Trustees as applicable).
Raise funds for Storehouse ministries, including cultivating donors and community support.
Research and apply for grants, and ensure appropriate reporting and outcomes tracking required by funders.
Ensure good record-keeping for donations, purchases, and stock where relevant.
Staff Team Contribution
Participate as a core member of the WWV staff team, including attendance at weekly staff meetings.
Provide reports and updates as required to Trustees and leadership structures.
Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by Senior Pastors that support the mission of the church.
Qualifications / Person Specification:
Essential:
a. A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the teachings of the Bible, rooted in the Holy Spirit.
b. A passion for tackling poverty, deprivation, and injustice in ways that reflect the compassion and power of Jesus.
c. Strong leadership capacity, including the ability to recruit, motivate, train, and support volunteers at scale.
d. Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
e. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a wide range of people, including vulnerable adults, volunteers, professionals, and the public.
f. Empathy and an ability to work with a diverse range of people in a proactive and non-judgmental way.
g. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and collaboratively within a staff team.
h. Confidence in signposting to appropriate support agencies and working with partner organisations.
i. Confident user of digital tools (email, documents, spreadsheets, online systems, social media).
j. Ability to record, collate, and interpret basic statistical and outcomes data for reporting.
k. Discreet, sensitive, and able to demonstrate tact and respect for confidentiality.
l. Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands.
m. A flexible approach to working hours (including some weekend/evening work).
Desirable:
a. Experience of leading community support projects or compassion ministries.
b. Experience working with public sector agencies, charities, or voluntary organisations.
c. Local knowledge of statutory and voluntary welfare agencies in the area.
d. Experience of fundraising and/or grant writing.
e. Relevant training (or willingness to train) in safeguarding, food hygiene, first aid, or mental health first aid.

b. Undertake training and personal development to grow in effectiveness and as a disciple.
